INTRODUCTION The mini torque wrenches listed in Figure 1 are used to properly install or disassemble the described connectors. Figure 1 also lists the previous part numbers of the wrenches, description and size, and preset torque for each wrench. NOTE All numerical values in this instruction sheet are in U.S. customary units. Dimensions are in metric units with U.S. customary units in brackets . Figures and illustrations are for reference only and are not drawn to scale. Reasons for reissue of this instruction sheet are provided in Section 5, REVISION SUMMARY. 2. DESCRIPTION Each mini torque wrench consists of a protective cover, torque wrench, and a fillister head screw (which permits replacement or change of various wrench heads). Type A wrench is equipped with an open-end head, and Type B wrench is equipped with a partially- closed socket head and extension arm. Refer to Figure 2 for head and extension arm replacement part numbers. The wrenches are designed to be used in the clockwise or counterclockwise direction. 2015 TE Connectivity family of companies PRODUCT INFORMATION 1-800-522-6752 This controlled document is subject to change. 1 of 2 All Rights Reserved For latest revision and Regional Customer Service, *Trademark visit our website at www.te.com. OPERATION NOTE If a wrench has not been used recently, move the head back and forth several times, listening for audible clicks. Moving the head back and forth spreads lubricant throughout the internal mechanism to improve wrench performance. Using the appropriate-sized head (refer to Figure 1), and turn the wrench clockwise or counterclockwise until there is an audible click. This click indicates that the torque has been achieved. CAUTION DO NOT over-tighten the connector with the wrench. Over-tightening could result in inaccurate torque settings. 4. REPLACEMENT (Refer To Figure 3) Type A heads are interchangeable. Remove the screw securing the head to the wrench. Remove the head. Then install the appropriate head listed in Figure 2. Type B heads are replaceable. Remove the screw securing the head and extension arm to the wrench. Remove the head and extension arm. Break the press fit between the head and extension arm. Replace the components in the reverse order of removal. See Figure 2 for replacement parts.
