The MC34063AP is a low-cost, monolithic integrated circuit made by Texas Instruments, suitable for off-line and dc-to-dc converter applications. This device contains functionality for controlling three different types of converters: buck (step-down regulator), boost (step-up regulator) and inverting. It also provides protection from over-voltage, over-current and thermal events. The device also contains an internal oscillator, allowing the user to adjust the frequency used in the converter circuitry. Other features include: internal clamp diodes, low startup current, low-power shut-down mode, and active-low enable control. The MC34063AP is offered in an SO-8 package and is part of the MC34063 family.
