The SN65HVD72DGKR is an RS-485 Interface IC, manufactured by Texas Instruments, specifically designed to protect systems from electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage. It is powered by a 3.3V Supply and allows up to 32 nodes in a Multipoint Control System (MCS). The IC supports Balanced Voltage Differential Signaling (BVDS) up to 200 mA, 32-node communication at 250 kbps, Automatic Address Recognition, and point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, and peer-to-peer communications. It also has integrated 1/8 unit-load transceivers, allowing for a maximum bus length of up to 4.2 km with the addition of an active termination and supports hot swapping for lower power dissipation.
