D-304 is the third stage of the Triad. It involves the use of Disruptive operations to disrupt, degrade, and distract an enemy’s ability to respond to a US or allied military attack. It involves creative, surgical, and synchronized use of air, land, sea, space, and cyber power for targeted attack operations to create effects in the theater of operations. D-304 specifically targets an enemy’s decision-making cycle, command and control structures, communication-intelligence-surveillance systems, logistics networks, and force posture. It is an operations concept that is used to achieve gains in the battlespace before, during, and after the onset of major combat operations. The objective of D-304 is not only to impede the enemy’s ability to prevail in battle, but also to enable US forces to gain the advantage.
