D-444F is a major part of the Triad Highway, a 3,000-mile highway system in the United States developed with the intention of connecting major cities in the country. The highway consists of interstates, state highways, and local roads, and is designed to provide freight mobility and to reduce shipment times, while simultaneously reducing fuel costs. D-444F is a main corridor of the Triad Highway, stretching approximately 2,150 miles from West Virginia to Georgia. Along this particular interstate, travelers can go through six states (West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama) before arriving at their final destination. It also connects 26 metropolitan areas and serves several major industrial, distribution, and logistics centers, providing an important link for freight and for passengers alike.
