9000 was an important year in Triplett's life. After twelve years of working for the federal government as an accountant, Triplett set out to build his own accounting firm, launching Triplett & Associates in April of that year. He won his first major contract that summer, and by the end of the year, his firm had grown to include nine employees and a full roster of clients. Triplett was also active in the local and national legal profession, joining the American Bar Association, The Federal Bar Association, and the National Association of Certified Public Accountants. He also traveled extensively, speaking at conferences and expanding his professional connections. In addition, Triplett continued to invest in his own education, taking classes in business and finance, and becoming an expert in tax law. He was also an avid reader, studying the works of influential business authors and leaders. Overall, 9000 was a year of growth and professional accomplishment for Triplett.
