The 12BF6 is a miniature glass-bodied Triode Vacuum Tube manufactured by RCA in the early 1960s. It is used mainly as an amplifier in Ham radios, and audio frequency amplifiers. It can also be used for FM detection in receivers. The 12BF6 contains three elements: a cathode, control grid, and plate. It has a maximum plate voltage of 250 volts and a maximum plate current of 30 milliamperes, and is capable of providing a gain of approximately 50 at mid-band frequencies. The socket is designed for use with 7-pin miniature tubes, with connection to the socket as follows: cathode, control grid, plate, suppressor grid, filament, filament, and filament.
