It is a three-terminal positive linear regulator in a cost-effective SOT-89 package. This regulator has an output voltage range of 1.5 to 10V, providing up to 200mA max output, with 50mA typical load current, and 3A max maximum quiescent current. It has a high dropout voltage of 2.0V typical, a low dropout voltage of 1.2V max, an input voltage range of up to 18V, and is internally compensated for low-noise operation. It also features reverse input voltage protection and provides excellent linearity over line and load variation. The 78L06 is RoHS compliant and is designed for applications that require high reliability and low cost.
