II Spacecraft
ARG05DTC8202 is a Viking II Spacecraft Terminal Module Assembly, which converts the spacecraft’s electrical and mechanical signals into communication signals for the Deep Space Network (DSN) ground stations to receive and for the Viking II Spacecraft to receive from DSN ground stations. This part contains four receivers (S-band, X-band, UHF, and Antroff) for spacecraft telemetry reception, two transmitters (S-band, X-band) for spacecraft command and telemetry transmission, two antennas (High-Gain, Omnidirectional) for receiving and uplinking signals, and a power assembly to provide power to the Viking II Spacecraft. This assembly is designed to be extremely reliable, as it is used to communicate with the Viking II Spacecraft in order to perform commands and receive telemetry data.
