The W7100 is a single-chip Ethernet controller designed by WIZnet for embedded applications. It is equipped with a 10/100 Base-T PHY, a 32/16-bit processing unit and flexible peripheral functions. It is designed to process IPV4/6 protocol stacks, and supports low power consumption, multicast and communication security such as IPSec support, IEEE 803.1ag, IEEE 802.1x authentication, Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and more. The W7100's main features include a dedicated on-chip Ethernet packet processor and MAC layer that helps to reduce the burden on the host processor, an on-chip memory controller that facilitates lower power consumption, and a Fast Ethernet transceiver. Additionally, the W7100 supports jumbo frames and is capable of handling a variety of applications, including image and video streaming applications, as well as industrial communications such as CAN/CAN FD.
