This type of Gas Discharge Tube (GDT) from Yageo is an 8x6mm SMD surface mount device that is RoHS compliant. It is rated for 2RM090M-8 which means it is capable of withstanding surges up to two times 900 mA peak current. The GDT has an 8mm diameter and 6mm height and features a proprietary design that is able to efficiently absorb high voltage/surge energy and protect circuits during momentary power outages, switching surges, or lightning strikes. The GDT also has a large contact area which reduces the contact resistance and improves stability.
