project
Yangjie DB157 is a survey project conducted by the Global Research Institute of China (GRIC). It was initiated in May 2001 and completed in April 2002. The purpose of this survey is to gain an understanding of the business value chain and the potential for commercialization of China’s many small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The survey covered a total of 157 enterprises from 12 cities. The types of organizations surveyed include SMEs in manufacturing, agriculture, IT, tourism, engineering and construction. Data collected for the survey were then analyzed by the GRIC to provide insight into the SME sector in China, and the overall economic outlook of the industry. The findings of this survey were then published in reports and books, as well as online data. The research has proven to be very helpful to policy makers, investors, and the business community in general.
