MCP98243 Memory Module Temperature Sensor w/ EEPROM for SPD Features Description Meets JEDEC Specification JC42.4-TSE2002B3 Microchip Technology Inc.s MCP98243 digital temperature sensor converts temperature from -40C Temperature Sensor + 2 Kbit Serial EEPROM and +125C to a digital word. This sensor meets EEPROM for Serial Presence Detect (SPD) JEDEC Specification JC42.4-TSE2002B3 Platform 2 2-wire I C/SMBus Interface Memory Module Thermal Sensor Component. It Available Packages: provides an accuracy of 0.2C/1C (typical/maxi- - DFN-8, TDFN-8, UDFN-8, TSSOP-8 mum) from +75C to +95C. In addition, this device has an internal 256 Byte EEPROM which can be used to store memory module and vendor information. Temperature Sensor Features The MCP98243 digital temperature sensor comes with Temperature-to-Digital Converter user-programmable registers that provide flexibility for Sensor Accuracy (Grade B): DIMM temperature-sensing applications. The registers - 0.2C/1C (typ./max.) +75C to +95C allow user-selectable settings such as Shutdown or +40C to +125C - 0.5C/2C (typ./max.) Low-Power modes and the specification of temperature Event boundaries.
