The TL431 is a three-pin adjustable voltage reference, commonly available in a SOT-23 RoHS-Compliant package manufactured by LG Electronics. It is a shunt regulator that monitors the output voltage from a power supply to ensure that it remains within a given tolerance range. The device includes a trustable voltage reference and an error amplifier to compare the reference voltage with a programmable voltage, which can then adjust the output voltage of the power supply accordingly. The TL431 is designed to operate over a wide temperature range and offers high accuracy, low power dissipation, and fast response time.
