400 MSPS 14-Bit, 1.8 V CMOS Direct Digital Synthesizer Data Sheet AD9952 FEATURES APPLICATIONS 400 MSPS internal clock speed Agile LO frequency synthesis Integrated 14-bit DAC Programmable clock generators 32-bit tuning word Test and measurement equipment Phase noise 120 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz offset (DAC output) Acousto-optic device drivers Excellent dynamic performance GENERAL DESCRIPTION >80 dB SFDR at 160 MHz (100 kHz offset) A OUT The AD9952 is a direct digital synthesizer (DDS) featuring a Serial input/output (I/O) control 14-bit DAC (digital-to-analog converter) and operating up to 1.8 V power supply 400 MSPS. The AD9952 uses advanced DDS technology, Software and hardware controlled power-down coupled with an internal high speed, high performance DAC to 48-lead TQFP EP package form a digitally programmable, complete high frequency PLL REFCLK multiplier (4 to 20) synthesizer capable of generating a frequency-agile analog Internal oscillator, can be driven by a single crystal output sinusoidal waveform at up to 200 MHz. The AD9952 is Phase modulation capability designed to provide fast frequency hopping and fine tuning Multichip synchronization resolution (32-bit frequency tuning word). The frequency High speed comparator (200 MHz toggle rate) tuning and control words are loaded into the AD9952 via a serial I/O port. The AD9952 is specified to operate over the extended industrial temperature range of 40C to +105C.
