High Stability Isolated Error Amplifier Data Sheet ADuM3190 FEATURES GENERAL DESCRIPTION 1 Stability in isolated feedback applications The ADuM3190 is an isolated error amplifier based on Analog 0.5% initial accuracy Devices, Inc., iCoupler technology. The ADuM3190 is ideal for 1% accuracy over the full temperature range linear feedback power supplies. The primary side controllers of Compatible with Type II or Type III compensation networks the ADuM3190 enable improvements in transient response, Reference voltage: 1.225 V power density, and stability as compared to commonly used Compatible with DOSA optocoupler and shunt regulator solutions. Low power operation: <7 mA total Unlike optocoupler-based solutions, which have an uncertain Wide voltage supply range current transfer ratio over lifetime and at high temperatures, the V : 3 V to 20 V DD1 ADuM3190 transfer function does not change over its lifetime, V : 3 V to 20 V DD2 and it is stable over a wide temperature range of 40C to +125C. Bandwidth: 400 kHz Included in the ADuM3190 is a wideband operational amplifier Isolation voltage: 2.5 kV rms for a variety of commonly used power supply loop compensation Safety and regulatory approvals techniques. The ADuM3190 is fast enough to allow a feedback UL recognition: 2500 V rms for 1 minute per UL 1577 loop to react to fast transient conditions and overcurrent condi- CSA Component Acceptance Notice 5A tions. Also included is a high accuracy 1.225 V reference to VDE certificate of conformity compare with the supply output setpoint.
