LT1964 200mA, Low Noise, Low Dropout Negative Micropower Regulator FEATURES DESCRIPTION n Low Noise: 30V (10Hz to 100kHz) The LT 1964 is a micropower low noise, low dropout nega- RMS n Low Quiescent Current: 30A tive regulator. The device is capable of supplying 200mA n Low Dropout Voltage: 340mV of output current with a dropout voltage of 340mV. Low n Output Current: 200mA quiescent current (30A operating and 3A shutdown) n Fixed Output Voltage: 5V makes the LT1964 an excellent choice for battery-pow- n Adjustable Output from 1.22V to 20V ered applications. Quiescent current is well controlled in n Positive or Negative Shutdown Logic dropout. n 3A Quiescent Current in Shutdown Other features of the LT1964 include low output noise. n Stable with 1F Output Capacitor With the addition of an external 0.01F bypass capacitor, n Stable with Aluminum, Tantalum, or Ceramic output noise is reduced to 30V over a 10Hz to 100kHz RMS Capacitors bandwidth. The LT1964 is capable of operating with small n Thermal Limiting capacitors and is stable with output capacitors as low n Low Pro le (1mm) ThinSOT and (0.75mm) 8-Pin as 1F. Small ceramic capacitors can be used without 3mm 3mm DFN Packages the necessary addition of ESR as is common with other regulators. Internal protection circuitry includes reverse APPLICATIONS output protection, current limiting, and thermal limiting. The device is available with a xed output voltage of 5V n Battery-Powered Instruments and as an adjustable device with a 1.22V reference volt- n Low Noise Regulator for Noise-Sensitive age.
