LTC1472 Protected PCMCIA V and CC VPP Switching Matrix FEATURES DESCRIPTIO Both V and VPP Switching in a Single Package The LTC 1472 switching matrix routes power to both the CC Built-In Current Limit and Thermal Shutdown V and VPP power supply pins of the PCMCIA compatible CC 16-Pin (Narrow) SOIC Package card socket. The V output of the LTC1472 is switched CC Inrush Current Limited (Drives 150F Loads) between three operating states: OFF, 3.3V, and 5V. The Continuous 12V Power Not Required VPP output is switched between four operating states: 0V, Extremely Low R NMOS Switches V , 12V, and Hi-Z. The output voltages are selected by DS(ON) CC Guaranteed 1A V Current and 120mA VPP Current two sets of digital inputs which are compatible with CC 1A Quiescent Current in Standby industry standard PC Card controllers (see Truth Tables). No External Components Required The V output of the LTC1472 can supply up to 1A of CC Compatible with Industry Standard Controllers current and the VPP output up to 120mA. Both switches Break-Before-Make Switching TM have built-in SafeSlot current limiting and thermal shut- Controlled Rise and Fall Times down to protect the card, socket and power supply against accidental short-circuit conditions. U APPLICATIO S The LTC1472 is designed to conserve power by automati- cally dropping to 1A standby current when the two OpenCable Set Top Box outputs are switched OFF. A shutdown pin is provided Notebook Computers which holds the external 12V regulator in standby mode Palmtop Computers except when required for VPP power.
