The MAX1184 is optimized for low-power, high- 74dB SFDR at f = 7.5MHz IN dynamic performance applications in imaging, instru- Low Power: mentation, and digital communication applications. This 35mA (Normal Operation) 2.8mA (Sleep Mode) ADC operates from a single 2.7V to 3.6V supply, con- 1A (Shutdown Mode) suming only 105mW while delivering a typical signal-to- noise ratio (SNR) of 59.5dB at an input frequency of 0.02dB Gain and 0.25 Phase Matching (typ) 7.5MHz and a sampling rate of 20Msps. The T/H driven Wide 1V Differential Analog Input P-P input stages incorporate 400MHz (-3dB) input amplifiers. Voltage Range The converters may also be operated with single-ended 400MHz -3dB Input Bandwidth inputs. In addition to low operating power, the MAX1184 On-Chip 2.048V Precision Bandgap Reference features a 2.8mA sleep mode as well as a 1A power- User-Selectable Output FormatTwos down mode to conserve power during idle periods. Ordering Information The MAX1184 features parallel, CMOS-compatible PART TEMP RANGE PIN-PACKAGE three-state outputs. The digital output format is set to MAX1184ECM -40C to +85C 48 TQFP-EP* twos complement or straight offset binary through a sin- gle control pin. The device provides for a separate out- MAX1184ECM+ -40C to +85C 48 TQFP-EP* put power supply of 1.7V to 3.6V for flexible interfacing. *EP = Exposed paddle. The MAX1184 is available in a 7mm x 7mm, 48-pin +Denotes lead-free package. TQFP package, and is specified for the extended industrial (-40C to +85C) temperature range. Pin Configuration Pin-compatible higher speed versions of the MAX1184 are also available. See Table 2 at end of data sheet for a list of pin-compatible versions.
