They improve Step-Down DC-DC Converter performance, component count, and size compared to Operate from Battery for 95% Efficient conventional multichannel controllers in 2-cell AA, 1-cell Li+, and dual-battery designs. On-chip MOSFETs pro- Step-Down vide up to 95% efficiency for critical power supplies, 90% Efficient Boost-Buck with Step-Up while additional channels operate with external FETs for Three Auxiliary PWM DC-DC Controllers optimum design flexibility. This optimizes overall effi- ciency and cost, while also reducing board space. All DC-DC channels 5mm x 5mm 1 step-down operate at one fixed frequencysettable from 100kHz 1 step-up to 1MHzto optimize size, cost, and efficiency. Other 32 Thin QFN 1 step-down MAX1585ETJ -40C to +85C features include soft-start, power-OK outputs, and over- 5mm x 5mm 1 inverting load protection.
