MAX4890E/MAX4892E + 19-0624 Rev 0 8/06 1000 Base-T, 15kV ESD Protection LAN Switches General Description Features The MAX4890E/MAX4892E meet the needs of high-speed 15kV ESD Protected Per MIL-STD-883, Method differential switching. The devices handle the needs of 3015 Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000) Base-T switching as Single +3.0V to +3.6V Power-Supply Voltage well as LVDS and LVPECL switching. The MAX4890E/ Low On-Resistance (R ): 4 (typ), 6.5 (max) MAX4892E provide enhanced ESD protection up to ON 15kV, and excellent high-frequency response, making Ultra-Low On-Capacitance (C ): 8pF (typ) ON the devices especially useful for interfaces that must go to -23dB Return Loss (100MHz) an outside connection. -3dB Bandwidth: 650MHz Both devices provide extremely low capacitance Optimized Pin Out for Easy Transformer and PHY (C ), as well as low resistance (R ), for low-insertion ON ON loss and very wide bandwidth. In addition to the four Interface pairs of DPDT switches, the MAX4892E provides LED Built-In LED Switches for Switching Indicators to switching for laptop computer/docking station use. Docking Station (MAX4892E) The MAX4890E/MAX4892E are pin-for-pin equivalents Low 450A (max) Quiescent Current to the MAX4890/MAX4892 and can replace these Bidirectional 8 to 16 Multiplexer/Demultiplexer devices for those applications requiring the enhanced ESD protection.
