18.038 is an introductory course on the mathematics of probability and random processes offered at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The course covers the topics of probability, random variables, stochastic processes, and statistical inference. Topics include the principles of probability, expectation and variance, discrete and continuous random variables, probabilistic and analytic models of random processes, and applications of probability theory. Additionally, this course covers the basics of PEM (Probability, Estimation and Modeling) and introduces students to the fundamentals of Markov chains, Bayesian inference, and stochastic processes.
