Biddleville is an historic African American neighborhood located in South Charlotte, North Carolina. It is the home to the Historic Biddleville Community District and the home of Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU). Biddleville is one of the most prominent African-American residential areas in Charlotte and the surrounding region, known for its clean and safe streets, and for its beauty. The population of 27472 people is mainly African-American, with a smaller percentage of Hispanic, Asian, and White populations. Biddleville has many small shops, restaurants, and other businesses, including a supermarket and drug store. There are also several parks and recreation facilities, including Freedom Park, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library, and the JCSU Campus along Selwyn Avenue, which is a major thoroughfare.
