The HSMQ-C230 from Broadcom is a switch chip, or Ethernet/IP switch, that is used to provide fast, reliable Ethernet connectivity and switching features for applications requiring Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. The chip is based on Broadcom's StrataXGS switch architecture, and is designed to provide a low-cost, low-latency switching solution for applications such as video-over-IP, video conferencing, Voice over IP (VoIP), and industrial automation. The chip supports full-duplex Gigabit Ethernet and up to twenty-four ports of 10/100/1000 copper or fiber ports. It also supports advanced Quality of Service (QoS) features, including VLAN tagging and Voice over IP (VoIP) prioritization. Additionally, it supports advanced security features such as port security, rate limiting, and 802.1x user authentication and authorization.
