The Diotec SI-A8000 is a hockey-puck rectifying diode with an 8 kV breakdown voltage, 1.8 A surge current, 1.5 µs response time, and single diode construction. It is designed for reliable switching and protection in power supplies, and its construction results in low heat dissipation and low impedance connection to EMI/RFI filters. This diode has good surge handling properties and is designed to withstand voltage spikes and surges better than traditional diodes. Furthermore, the SI-A8000 diode is designed for fast-switching applications and has a ceramic top-side substrate for excellent thermal performance. It is built to last, with a temperature range of -55 to +175 C and a high-quality encapsulated body for protection.
