The MDC-170-12 part of the Kubara Lamina is a type of high-temperature insulation material used to increase energy efficiency and reduce energy costs in AC and heating systems. It is made of a flexible closed-cell silicone rubber that can withstand up to 340°F (171°C) of continuous temperature without losing shape, as well as boasting excellent vibration dampening qualities. It can be cut to custom sizes, and is fire-proof, waterproof and smoke-proof. It comes in a 1/8” (3 mm) sheet and has a textured surface on one side that allows this material to be easily attached to any surface.
