1. The 4N35 is a six-pin, through-hole, photocoupler and optoisolator made by Lite-On.
2. It consists of an infrared light-emitting diode (IRED) coupled with a silicon phototransistor.
3. The 4N35 optically isolates inputs from outputs, allowing for a higher degree of safety and reliability in applications requiring isolation of signals.
4. The optocoupler has a wide range of operating temperature, from -40°C to +85°C and a typical current transfer ratio (CTR) of up to 100%. Its response time is typically 10µs.
5. It is rated for a maximum input current of 50mA and a maximum peak inverse voltage (PIV) of 5kV RMS.
6. Applications of the 4N35 include AC switching and motor control, instrumentation, linear and digital LED displays, relay interface, power supply interface and thermal transfer.
