MP1583 3A, 23V, 385KHz Step-Down Converter The Future of Analog IC Technology DESCRIPTION FEATURES The MP1583 is a step-down regulator with a 3A Output Current built-in internal Power MOSFET. It achieves 3A Programmable Soft-Start of continuous output current over a wide input 100m Internal Power MOSFET Switch supply range with excellent load and line Stable with Low ESR Output Ceramic Capacitors regulation. Up to 95% Efficiency 20 A Shutdown Mode Current mode operation provides fast transient Fixed 385KHz Frequency response and eases loop stabilization. Thermal Shutdown Fault condition protection includes Cycle-by-Cycle Over Current Protection cycle-by-cycle current limiting and thermal Wide 4.75V to 23V Operating Input Range shutdown. An adjustable soft-start reduces the Output Adjustable from 1.22V to 21V stress on the input source at startup. In Under-Voltage Lockout shutdown mode the regulator draws 20 A of supply current. APPLICATIONS The MP1583 requires a minimum number of Distributed Power Systems external components, providing a compact Battery Chargers solution.
