MP26101 2A, 24V Input, 1.1MHz, 1- or 2- Cell 4.1V/Cell Switching Li-Ion Battery Charger The Future of Analog IC Technology DESCRIPTION FEATURES The MP26101 is a monolithic switching charger Charges 1- or 2-cell Li-Ion battery packs for 1- or 2-cell Li-Ion battery packs. It has a 4.1V/Cell Charge Full Voltage built-in internal power MOSFET, and can output 3.9V/Cell Auto-recharge Threshold up to 2A of charge current with current mode Wide 5V to 24V Operating Input Range control for fast loop response and easy Up to 2A Programmable Charging Current compensation. The charge current can be 0.75% V Accuracy BATT programmed through an accurate sense 0.2 Internal Power MOSFET resistor. Up to 90% Efficiency MP26101 regulates the charge current and Fixed 1.1MHz Frequency charge voltage using two control loops to Preconditioning for Fully-Depleted Batteries realize high-accuracy for both constant-current Charging Status Indicator charge and constant-voltage charge. Input Supply and Battery Fault Indicator Thermal Shutdown Fault condition protection includes cycle-by-cycle Cycle-by-Cycle Over-Current Protection current limiting and thermal shutdown. Other Battery Temperature Monitor and Protection safety features include battery temperature monitoring, a charge status indicator, and a APPLICATIONS programmable timer to halt the charging cycle. Distributed Power Systems The MP26101 requires a minimal number of Chargers for 1-Cell or 2-Cell Li-Ion Batteries readily-available external components.
