Avenue
Newport Avenue is a street in San Diego, California that runs from Interstate 8 (I-8) in the Mission Valley neighborhood to Prospect Street near the ocean. The "EIT-D/N" portion of Newport Avenue is a stretch of road that runs from Friars Road to, or past, I-805. This portion of Newport Avenue, as a part of the El Camino Real, serves as an important east-west corridor from downtown San Diego to the beach areas of the city. The two-lane stretch has a median that contains several native trees and shrubs, as well as a pedestrian path. With the other nearby roadways, this portion of Newport Ave provides access to a variety of restaurants, shops, and other points of interest.
