The 74HC595PW.118 from Nexperia is an 8-bit shift register in a 16-pin Plastic Dual-In-Line (PDIP) package. It contains an 8-bit serial-in, serial or parallel-out shift register. The device also has an output enable pin for parallel/serial input and a common 8-bit storage latch for data output. This shift register is suitable for use in high-speed memory address and data distribution in microprocessor and digital systems. With functions like gated zero or one parallel load, data direction control, and variable shift rate, the shift register can be used in wide variety of applications. The device has low power consumption and high noise immunity, making it suitable for modern electronic devices.
