The MC79L12ACPG is a linear low-dropout (LDO) regulator integrated circuit by ON Semiconductor. It is able to provide up to 100mA of current, and provide fixed output voltages of 3.3V, 5.0V and 12V. This device has an incredibly low quiescent current and is a low-noise regulator, making it ideal for powering all sorts of low-current digital devices, including microcontrollers, wavetable sound chips, and Ethernet controllers. It features thermal, overload, and short circuit protection features, and is available in both surface mount (SOT-89) and through-hole (TO-220) packages. This device is perfect for powering small, low-current embedded designs.
