NCL30185 Power Factor Corrected Quasi-Resonant Primary Side Current-Mode Controller for LED Lighting www.onsemi.com with Line Step Dimming and Thermal Foldback 8 The NCL30185 is a controller targeting isolated and nonisolated 1 smartdimmable constantcurrent LED drivers. Designed to SOIC8 NB support flyback, buckboost, and SEPIC topologies, its proprietary CASE 751 currentcontrol algorithm provides nearunity power factor and tightly regulates a constant LED current from the primary side, thus MARKING DIAGRAM eliminating the need for a secondaryside feedback circuitry or an 8 optocoupler. L30185x Housed in the SOIC8, the NCL30185 is specifically intended for ALYW very compact spaceefficient designs. The device is highly integrated with a minimum number of external components. A robust suite of 1 safety protections is built in to simplify the design. To ensure reliable L30185x = Specific Device Code operation at elevated temperatures, a user configurable current x = A, B foldback circuit is also provided.
