NCP6335 Configurable 4.0 A Step Down Converter - Transient Load Helper The NCP6335 is a synchronous buck converter optimized to supply www.onsemi.com the different sub systems of portable applications powered by one cell LiIon or three cell Alkaline/NiCd/NiMH batteries. The device is able to deliver up to 4.0 A, with programmable output voltage from 0.6 V to 1.4 V. It can share the same output rail with another DCtoDC converter and works as a transient load helper. Operation at a 3 MHz WLCSP20 switching frequency allows the use of small components. CASE 568AG Synchronous rectification and automatic PWM/PFM transitions improve overall solution efficiency. The NCP6335 is in a space MARKING DIAGRAM saving, low profile 2.0 x 1.6 mm CSP20 package. 6335x Features AWLYWW Input Voltage Range from 2.3 V to 5.5 V: Battery and 5 V Rail Powered Applications Programmable Output Voltage: 0.6 V to 1.4 V in 6.25 mV Steps x = D1: Prototype Modular Output Stage Drive Strength for Increased Efficiency = F: 3.5 A = D: 2.5 A (StandAlone) Depending on the Output Current A = Assembly Location 3 MHz Switching Frequency with on Chip Oscillator WL = Wafer Lot Uses 470 nH Inductor and 2 x 22 F Capacitors for Optimized Y = Year WW = Work Week Footprint and Solution Thickness = PbFree Package PFM/PWM Operation for Optimum Increased Efficiency PbFree indicator, G or microdot ( ), Low 35 A Quiescent Current may or may not be present 2 I C Control Interface with Interrupt and Dynamic Voltage Scaling Support PIN OUT Enable Pins, Power Good/Fail Signaling 1 2 3 4 Thermal protections and Temperature Management A VSEL EN SCL FB Transient Load Helper: Share the Same Rail with Another DCDC Small 2.0 x 1.6 mm / 0.4 mm pitch CSP Package PGND PGND These are PbFree Devices B SDA AGND INTB* PG* Typical Applications Smartphones C PGND PGND PGND PGND Webtablets AVIN D1 D AVIN PVIN SW SW PVIN D2 Core Supply Input AGND B4 E1 4.7 uF E2 Thermal DCDC Protection 4.0 A 470 nH D3 SW D4 SW E PVIN PVIN SW Enable Control EN A2 E3 Modular Operating Input E4 2x 22 uF Driver VSEL A1 C1 PGND C2 (Top View) C3 C4 Output B3 Power Fail Monitoring *Optional B2 Interrupt FB A4 DCDC SDA 3 MHz Processor Processor I C B1 ORDERING INFORMATION I C Sense Controller Core Control Interface See detailed ordering and shipping information on page 29 of SCL A3 this data sheet.
