NCV890231 Buck Switching Regulator - Automotive 2.0 A, 2 MHz The NCV890231 is a fixedfrequency, monolithic, Buck switching regulator intended for Automotive, batteryconnected applications that must operate with up to a 36 V input supply. The regulator is www.onsemi.com suitable for systems with low noise and small form factor requirements often encountered in automotive driver information MARKING DIAGRAM systems. The NCV890231 is capable of converting the typical 4.5 V to 18 V automotive input voltage range to outputs as low as 3.3 V at a V8902 constant switching frequency above the sensitive AM band, 31 ALYW DFN10 eliminating the need for costly filters and EMI countermeasures. Two CASE 485C pins are provided to synchronize switching to a clock, or to another NCV890231. The NCV890231 also provides several protection A = Assembly Location features expected in Automotive power supply systems such as current L = Wafer Lot Y = Year limit, short circuit protection, and thermal shutdown. In addition, the W = Work Week high switching frequency produces low output voltage ripple even = PbFree Device when using small inductor values and an allceramic output filter (Note: Microdot may be in either location) capacitor forming a spaceefficient switching regulator solution.
