Micro-stepping Motor Driver NCV70514 Description The NCV70514 is a microstepping stepper motor driver for bipolar stepper motors. The chip is connected through I/O pins and an SPI interface with an external microcontroller. The NCV70514 contains www.onsemi.com a currenttranslation table and takes the next microstep depending on the clock signal on the NXT input pin and the status of the DIR (= direction) register or input pin. The chip provides an error message if stall, an electrical error, an undervoltage or an elevated junction MARKING temperature is detected. It is using a proprietary PWM algorithm DIAGRAM for reliable current control. 1 32 1 NCV70514 is fully compatible with the automotive voltage N70514x requirements and is ideally suited for generalpurpose stepper motor QFN32, 5x5 FAWLYYWW CASE 488AM applications in the automotive, industrial, medical, and marine environment. Due to the technology, the device is especially suited for use in applications with fluctuating battery supplies. 1 32 Features QFNW32, 5x5 Dual Hbridge for 2phase Stepper Motors CASE 484AB Programmable Peakcurrent up to 800 mA N70514 = Specific Device Code Low Temperature Boost Current F = Fab Location (available only for NCV70514MW007 device) A = Assembly Location WL = Wafer Lot Onchip Current Translator YY = Year SPI Interface with Daisy Chain Capability WW = Work Week = PbFree Package 7 Step Modes from Fullstep up to 32 Microsteps Fully Integrated Currentsensing and Currentregulation On Chip Stall Detection ORDERING INFORMATION PWM Current Control with Automatic Selection of Fast and Slow See detailed ordering, marking and shipping information in the Decay package dimensions section on page 30 of this data sheet.
