Additional Infomation About Product

The A4988 stepper motor driver carrier black (part of the Pololu series) is a small circuit board module designed for convenience and flexibility in controlling a stepper motor. This carrier board is designed for easy interfacing with 3.3 V and 5 V microcontrollers, and allows a stepper motor to be powered at up to 1.7 A/phase. The A4988 features adjustable current limiting, over-temperature and over-current protection, and five different selectable microstep resolutions (down to 1/16-step). With its low cost and small form-factor, this is an excellent solution for controlling a stepper motor from a simple microcontroller. The board features two pins for connecting a digital input signal to control the rotation direction and speed of the stepper motor, as well as two analog/PWM input pins which can be used to enable or disable the motor speed control. Furthermore, a header is provided that can be used to connect an external heat sink in order to dissipate heat generated by the motor.
