PSB 162/08 is a standard issued by the United Kingdom's Powersem Standards Board (PSB) to help ensure that all high-voltage, low-impedance power supplies are constructed to the highest safety and quality standards. Its purpose is to provide guidance for design and application personnel regarding the manufacture, testing, installation and operation of power supplies and safe working practices related to power supplies. The standard sets out requirements for construction and testing methods, safety displays, overload protection, compliant heat dissipation and other important criteria. It also sets out the minimum acceptable levels of performance, so that power supplies are designed to meet all existing and foreseeable requirements, into the future.
