It provides the 2 control and protection for a Voltage Regulator (VR). The VR SMBus/PMBus/I C interface with SVID conflict free incorporates 3 integrated drivers and can operate in 4-, 3-, 2- Configurable 4-, 3-, 2- or 1-phase for the output using three or 1-phase configurations. The VR uses a serial control bus to integrated gate drivers communicate with the CPU and achieve lower cost and smaller Green Hybrid Digital R3 modulator board area. - Excellent transient response The VR utilizes Intersils Robust Ripple Regulator R3 - Phase shedding with power state selection Technology. The R3 modulator has many advantages - Diode emulation in single-phase for high light-load compared to traditional modulators, including faster transient efficiency response, variable switching frequency in response to load 0.5% system accuracy over-temperature transients, and improved light load efficiency due to diode Supports multiple current sensing methods emulation mode with load-dependent low switching frequency. - Lossless inductor DCR current sensing The ISL95820 has several other key features.
