1. The 3.ST43.004 WGC part of Roztocze is an integral part of the local hydro-geological system. It is located in a small area of the Polish region of Eastern European Roztocze, in the southeastern part of Lublin Voivodeship.
2. 3.ST43.004 WGC Roztocze is a type of fluvioglacial terrace, that is, it was formed by centuries-old standstill of waters due to the cold climate. It is made of different types of artesian and fractured rocks, which makes the aquifers particularly vulnerable to the effects of farming, gas and mineral extraction, and other pollution sources.
3. The environment of 3. ST43.004 WGC Roztocze is a unique one due to its geology, as well as its flora and fauna composition. It is home to many rare species, including the European eel, different types of trout, and various amphibians. It is also a popular destination for bird-watching and other activities. In order to protect this precious habitat, the Polish government has designated the area as a Nature Reserve.
