The SGM4056-6.8YPS8G/TR is a Battery Management SOIC-8_EP_150mil RoHS integrated power management IC (PMIC) manufactured by SGMICRO. This single-chip device combines linear regulation, switching regulation, battery charge management, battery protection and accessory detection in a single 8-pin package. It is designed to meet the needs of space-constrained consumer products with highly integrated power management of two separate power domains. It features a 2-Cell Lithium-Ion or Lithium-Polymer battery charge management solution with input current limiting and battery short current protection. It offers over-current protection with auto-retry, over-temperature protection, over-voltage protection, under-voltage protection, high-precision battery voltage monitoring and short-circuit protection. Moreover, it offers secondary circuit support such as reset input, power-on reset, on/off signal, and weak cell detection. With a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, it is ideal for portable consumer applications such as digital cameras, powering PDAs, mobile phones, and other hand-held electric device.
