STBB3J 2 A, high efficiency single inductor buck-boost DC-DC converter Datasheet - production data Applications Single cell Li-Ion, two-cell and three-cell alkaline, Ni-MH powered devices Memory card supply Tablet, smartphones Digital cameras Flip Chip 20, pitch = 0.4 mm Description The STBB3J is a fixed frequency, high efficiency, Features buck-boost DC-DC converter which provides output voltages from 1.2 V to 5.5 V starting from Input voltage range from 1.8 V to 5.5 V input voltage from 1.8 V to 5.5 V. The device can 2 A output current at 3.3 V in buck mode operate with input voltages higher than, equal to, (V = 3.6 V to 5.5 V) IN or lower than the output voltage making the 800 mA output current at 3.3 V in boost mode product suitable for cell lithium-Ion applications (V 2.0 V) where the output voltage is within the battery IN voltage range. The low-R N-channel and P- DS(on) Typical efficiency higher than 94% channel MOSFET switches are integrated and 2% DC feedback voltage tolerance contribute to achieve high efficiency. The MODE Automatic transition between step-down and pin allows the selection between auto mode and boost mode forced PWM mode, taking advantage from either lower power consumption or best dynamic Adjustable output voltage from 1.2 V to 5.5 V performance. The device also includes soft-start Power save mode (PS) at light load control, thermal shutdown, and current limit. The 2.0 MHz fixed switching frequency STBB3J is packaged in Flip Chip 20 bumps with 2.5 x 1.75 mm. Adjustable switching frequency up to 2.4 MHz (by external synchronous square signal) Device quiescent current less than 50 A Load disconnect during shutdown Shutdown function and soft-start Shutdown current < 1 A Available in Flip Chip 20, pitch = 0.4 mm Table 1.
