TS556 Low-power dual CMOS timer Datasheet - production data Description The TS556 is a dual CMOS timer which offers a very low consumption: (I TS556 = 220 A at V = 5 V versus cc(TYP) CC SO14 (a) I NE556 = 6 mA), cc(TYP) (plastic micropackage) and high frequency: (f TS556 = 2.7 MHz versus (max.) (a) f NE556 = 0.1 MHz) (max.) Pin connections In both monostable and astable modes, timing (top view) remains very accurate. The TS556 provides reduced supply current Discharge 14 1 +V S spikes during output transitions, which enables Threshold 13 2 Discharge the use of lower decoupling capacitors compared (a) Control to those required by bipolar NE556 . 3 12 Threshold Voltage Control 12 Reset 4 11 Voltage Due to the high input impedance (10 ), timing Output 5 10 Reset capacitors can also be minimized.
