TNR01320 Syracuse

TNR01320 is part of Syracuse University’s Tri-Technology Neighborhood Renovation Program. Through research and partnership with the City of Syracuse, Syracuse Housing Authority, and local non-profits, Syracuse University has implemented a strategy of revitalizing distressed areas of the city. TNR01320 is an urban planning project that aims to improve access to community amenities and promote development in the depressed Near Westside and Poverty Point neighborhoods. As part of the project, the university is providing grants for the rehabilitation of deteriorating single-family homes, and has created a community market to improve access to affordable fresh food and small-scale retail services. Additionally, Syracuse University is partnering with the City of Syracuse and community organizations to invest in public infrastructure improvements and economic opportunity initiatives. The University also plans to establish a “maker-space” where small businesses and entrepreneurs can locate for doing business.
