16120.16 is a directive issued by the United States Military, more specifically the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).The directive provides policy guidance and oversight for requirements of all DoD-affiliated and military personnel, contractors and vendors. This directive covers topics such as background and security screening, drug testing, security clearances, and operational security to ensure DoD personnel, property and sensitive information are secure. The directive also sets forth contractor regulations, to include required types of security for contractors.
