OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS DIGITAL THERMOMETER THERMOMETER HOLD C F 30V MAX POWER HOLD C/ F K-TYPE THERMOCOUPLE K-TYPE THERMOCOUPLE RANGE:-20-260 RANGE -20 C1000C -4-500 -4 F1832F INTRODUCTION This instrument is a portable 3 1/2 digit, compact-sized digital thermometer designed to use external K-type thermocouple as temperature sensor. Temperature indication follows National Bureau of Standards and IEC584 temperature/voltage tables for K-type thermocouples. One K-type thermocouple is supplied with the thermometer. SAFETY INFORMATION It is recommended that you read the safety and operation instructions before using the thermometer. WARNING TO AVOID ELECTRICAL SHOCK. DO NOT USE THIS INDUSTRUMENT WHEN VOLTAGES AT THE MEASUREMENT SURFACE EXCEED 30V DC OR 30 RMS AC. CAUTION Repeated sharp flexing can break the thermocouple leads. To prolong lead life, avoid sharp bends in the leads, especially near the connector. The symbol on the instrument indicates that the operator must refer to an explanation in this manual. SPECIFICATIONS ELECTRICAL Temperature Scale: Celsius or Fahrenheit user-selectable Measurement Range -20 to 260,(-4 to 500) Accuracy: Accuracy is specified for operating temperatures over the range of 18 to 28(64 to 82), for 1 year, not including thermocouple error. (3% rdg+5) -20 to 260 (3% rdg+8) -4 to 500 Input Protection: 30V dc or 30V rms ac maximum input voltage on any combination of input pins. Reading Rate: 2.5 times per second. GENERAL Display: 3 1/2 digit liquid crystal display (LCD) with maximum reading of 1999 Battery: Standard 1.5V battery(LR-44 or SR-44) Dimensions: 117mm(H) X 64.5mm(W) X 24.5mm(D) Weight : 160g OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS SELECTING THE TEMPERATURE SCALE Readings are displayed in degrees , when the thermometer is turned on. To change the temperature scale, press the or key. OVERLOAD DISPLAY(1) HOLD MODE Pressing the HOLD key to enter the Data Hold mode, the HOLD annunciator is displayed. When HOLD mode is selected, the thermometer held the present readings and stops all further measurements. Pressing the HOLD key again cancels HOLD mode, causing the thermometer to resume taking measyrements. REPLACMENT OF BATTERY 1. When batteries become exhausted or drop below the operating voltage, the BAT mark is displayed. 2. Turn the power switch OFF and remove the thermocouple, prior to installing fresh batteries. 3. To install the batteries, remove the bottom case. 4. Insert two LR-44 or SR-44 into the battery case making sure that proper polarity is observed. 5. Replace the bottom case and make sure it is properly seated. Dispose of the used batteries in a safe and approved place.
