The MAX232IDWR with RS-232 Interface IC Dual RS232 is an integrated circuit designed and manufactured by Texas Instruments. It is used to convert a single-ended TTL (transistor-transistor logic) signal into a differential RS-232 signal, or vice versa. It has two independent serial ports, one RS-232 transmit port and one RS-232 receive port. It is designed to provide a fully featured, low power solution for designs that require full RS-232 transmission. The chip includes two-level ESD protection on its input pins, low power consumption, low voltage operation (down to 1.8 V), and a range of features including programmable output slew rate, adjustable receiver threshold and a slew-rate limited driver. With a very low power consumption and integrated ESD protection, this IC is ideal for RS-232 applications that need to operate in low power and/or low-voltage environments.
