The TPS2041BDBVT from Texas Instruments is a single-channel, current-limited power distribution switch IC with a low-voltage power switch. It is highly efficient, providing up to 94% power savings compared to traditional linear voltage regulators and enabling a power system to reduce size, cost, and complexity. The device has an adjustable current limit of up to 9A and adjustable output voltage up to 10V. It is designed to provide protection from overvoltage, overcurrent and short circuit events. Protection detection is provided by a sense pin and an external current-setting resistor that can be externally adjusted to set the current limit. Other features include fast transient response, up to 1 MHz switching frequency, and an integrated thermal shutdown. The device is available in a small, 8-pin package and operates from a wide input voltage range from 3.4V to 28V.
