The HCPL-7860-500E is a specialized isolated modulator manufactured by Broadcom, specifically designed for data acquisition applications such as ADCs and DACs. It is a single-channel high-output common-mode voltage isolator that contains a combination of a transformer and an optocoupler. This device provides galvanic isolation up to 100 VRMS, which helps protect delicate analog or digital circuits from fast rise times or high frequency common-mode noise. Its bandwidth of 500 kHz makes it suitable for a wide range of AC signal applications. The HCPL-7860-500E also includes a low-distortion wave shaping network that minimizes common-mode and differential-mode distortion. This device is RoHS compliant and compatible with multiple housings including SOIC-8, SOIC-14, and MSOP-8 packages.
