ES8396 Everest Semiconductor

The ES8396 is a QFN-48 (quad flat package, no lead) RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant digital audio system-on-chip (SoC) manufactured by Everest Semiconductor. It integrates a state-of-the-art 24-bit/192kHz DAC (digital to analog converter) and a 24-bit S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format) receiver with an I2S (inter-IC sound) port. It also features a programmable audio processing engine capable of delivering up to 8 channels of audio processing allowing for the development of surround sound systems and analog-to-digital functions that provide a variety of facilities such as echo cancellation, dynamic range control, and compression. The chip provides stereo line outputs, multiple inputs for digital and analog inputs, and I2S outputs. It also includes a PLL (phase-locked loop) circuit for improved audio quality and clock accuracy. The ES8396 is perfect for designing a wide range of media and entertainment applications.
